Heavens alive.   Someone has read my blog!!!   Thank you so much Maureen.    What can I say about Cape Town?   It is still the most beautiful city in the world with the loveliest people.   We are all a very integrated society now and it is like the bad years never existed.   It is winter now but today you would not think so.   It is the perfect Cape Town day.   Temperature is 18 degrees, not a cloud in the skies and a feeling of chilled layedbackness prevails.    On the weekend I am going to drive to Scarborough.   Miles and miles of sea and mountain, the one more spectacular than the other.   I love living here.   And the reason I am blogging during work hours?   it is because i remembered my username and password.   so logging off for now...

spurred into action

Its been a while since Ive blogged.   I have enrolled for a Feature Writing course and am on my third module.   I find it very, very interesting.   I trust that my blogs will improve as I learn more.  I am really fired up - i think i'll do my final project on and interview with an ex ballet dancer who started an unusual school of dance and exercise and a young man who chose photography for a career.   It has to be on two creative jobs.   I hope that both will be happy to be interviewed by me.

It was my mum's 89th birthday on 22nd.   When she woke up she said that she hadn't slept very well because it was going to be her birthday and she didnt think she would live to 89.

She really has seen the world change.   It is extremely interesting to hear her talking about ageing.   It sort of creeps up on your body.   I think I'm going to write down some of the things she says.   Ill share them with you at a later stage.  Here she is - Petronella Lillian Foster - known to all as Nen.  We took her to Simonstown for
brunch - it was a perfect day.   lovely sunshine but cool.   the sea was like glass.

I'm off to do the dishes and make a cuppa.   speak to you soon

How difficult can blogging be?

Well, I'm about to find out.    I'm not sure how this all works but hopefully trial and error will prevail.   I have just assembled a butternut lasagne and have popped in six chicken drummies into the over for the non-vegetarian part of our household.   My son is about to have a drumming practice and I don't know if my soul will cope with it.   This is daily life on weekends.   During the week I hold down an 8 - 5 job in the magazine publishing world.  This Stuff just repeats and repeats and I have to have an escape.   On Saturday mornings I am free for about and hour at a Flamenco Dancing School.   This really renews me!!   On Sunday mornings I should go to church but often I find that I need to get to a beach or a forest and take a log and much needed walk. I'm sure God understands.   So if anyone should read my blog please let me know.   It would be great......

Why Gentle on my mind?

Two years ago my brother passed away.   Throughout his life he had music in his soul.    His best chill time was to sit holding his acoustic guitar, strum away and sing.    The Song that reminds me most of him is Gentle on My mind.   It simply popped into my head when asked what I was calling my blog.
