freaky week

Heavens! What a week this has been.   On Saturday we are at my mum's beach house at Scarborough and discovered that part of the roof had blown off.  So Sunday morning we had to do a hasty repair.   Monday was uneventful.   When I opened the door on Tuesday morning to go to dancing it appeared to be raining.  I went back in and donned my raincoat only to find when I eventually left that some nasty, dastardly lout had stolen our garden tap.   In fact it was twisted off and a huge spray of water had been flooding the garden for hours.   On Wednesday  our pet rat looked really ill and on Thursday morning she passed away.   As if this wasn't enough, our stove packed up on Friday morning.    Saturday and Sunday - I command you to be peaceful, beautiful and completely uneventful.   I actually feel that I can't cope with much more.   what to do now.  OFF TO BED

Farewell Ping

It is so sad to say goodbye to a pet.   Ping was just a small siamese rat.   She lived with us for two years and has finally succumbed to cancer.    Even though she was such a small and gentle critter, she was very deep in our hearts.   Not a day went by when each one of us would communicate with her.   She was always happy to eat strawberry yoghurt, or almonds or cranberries.   She loved a crust of buttered toast and would furiously lick off all the butter. Her place of peace was in the hoodie of john's track top.   She was happy to stay there for hours. She had a personality and would often push you away with her paw.   She was an expert at tearing up newspapers to make a nest.
Ping gave as much love to us as we gave to her.   Farewell dear gentle soul....
